Good bands and artists you all can listen to...

I saw the film Cyrus. It stars John C Riley and Jonah Hill. It's fantastic. It's directed by mumblecore greats, the Duplass Brothers. If you haven't seen their first hit The Puffy Chair, do yourself a favor and see it.
Cyrus is a rare blend of honesty, awkwardness, humor, and love. Please see it for your own good. I'm excited to see Jonah Hill become one of our generation's hit filmmakers. He's amazing.
Here's the list of bands/hip hop/punk pop stuff I've been bumpin' lately. Try all of these out and let me know what you think.

I've Been Getting Sick
Iron Man 2. Meh. ***1/2
Everybody's Fine *** <--- This movie almost made cry. Then I realized it was probably just my contact. I ate 12 gallons of Slim Jim to make up for the stupidity of what I was doing.
Sherlock Holmes ****
It's weird being home. I always told myself that growing old is mandatory and growing up is optional. I don't know when I gave in to the sickness, but I've been coughing lately. Through and through I convice myself that I know exactly how things will pan out. Looks like I didn't count on sneezing out all these surprises. I don't like sneezing.
Home is where you make it. Thanks for the comfort Pella, looks like I am ready to grow old. But not with you.
It's you... not me,
Andrew
P.S
I posted about this movie a year ago. When I saw Iron Man in XD, they showed the thrid trailer for this. The XD theater made this more epic than I expected. OMG, IM SO EXCCCCCCCCCCIIIIIIIIITED! EEEEEEEEEEEK!

ANDREA
I've got one week until summer.
TIME TIME TIME TIME TIME FLIEZ.
I went to a lot of films last week. I decided to rate them because blogs need substance...
I'll go with the star rating out of five...
"Get Him to the Greek" **** 1/2
"Cop Out" **
"Kick Ass" **** 1/2
"MacGruber" *** and 1/2 of Hot Rod's star review.
I'm sitting at ISU's library's third floor window. It's looking out into campus. I can see my reflection in the window and everyone behind me. I wonder if anyone can see me making sure my hair looks fantastic. Probably. Yup. There's verification. Some redhaired girl locked eyes with me through my reflection. Hmmm.... is she really looking at me then? Or is she looking at my evil reflection twin Andrea? I DONT KNOW, it makes me paranoid. Every time I look at the window, Andrea stares at me. I wish my evil reflection twin would stop this. I wonder if it knows I'm typing about him.
Wait.... WHAT'S IT DOING?! NOOOOOOOO! I'LL NEVER LET YOU TAKE MY KEYBOARD AWAY ANDREA. I'LL NEVER STOP TYPING ABOUT YOU. HOW DID YOU GET OUT OF YOUR REFLECTION JAIL?! NOOOO! LET ME FINISH THIS SENT
finals are making me crazy,
Andrew

Not doing what I need to do.
I'm watching the film "Peacock" right now. I should be typing a paper.
I got a callback for Peacock two years ago, this time, after I auditioned out of the blue. I was trying out for a character named Kenny who sells baseball cards to Cillian Murphy's character.
I got to meet the producers and directors and had a pretty rad conversation with them about films and how they got started. I think they liked me. I didn't end up getting the part but it was pretty cool, as that was my first audition/callback ever.
Cillian Murphy is fantastic. Everyone go see his films: Batman Begins, Sunshine, Breakfast on Pluto, etc. It would have been a dream come true to work with him.
Ellen Page and some other famous people were in it. Here's the trailer...
The film's cast is incredible. The script has potential. It's pretty hit or miss.
More later,
Andrew
P.S. I saw Set Your Goals, Comeback Kid, and The Wonder Years tonight. Life is amazing. Stay Posi.

THE VICIOUS KIND
I posted a blog about this film on December 10, 2009 (http://ablopez.blogspot.com/2009/12/lots-of-movies-to-see-this-week.html). I finally saw The Vicious Kind and it changed my life. One of the best films I've seen in awhile. Too bad it didn't get picked up for major distribution.
The film is hilarious, depressing, beautiful, and real. I promise you'll love it.
The cast is full of people you know.
Watch the trailer and you'll be hooked.
You can rent it now on Blu-Ray/DVD or stream it on your instant play on Netflix.
Trust me on this one,
Andrew

Lots of movies to see this week
Lots of good ones are coming out. Here's Adam Scott's new movie. He veers away from a lot of his other roles you know him in like Step Brothers and his character in the hilarious show: Party Down.
Word on the street says watch out for his Oscar Nom. Hes an underdog and is already up against Jeff Bridges in the Independent Spirit Awards.

LEAVES OF GRASS trailer & GREEN SCREENS music video
Life is going by too fast and sometimes I feel like I have nothing to show for all the time I spent. Horrible.
This is the new Edward Norton movie Leaves of Grass. It's about drugs. Yup.
If this is funny, it won't surprise me. If this is not funny, it won't surprise me.
The era of Hollywood movie stars is dead people. Cast unknowns in movies with big name crew members and you're golden. Or just quit and marry for money.
Also, here's the music video for Sleeping At Last's Green Screens.
EPIC and BEAUTIFUL. It makes me wanna take a bath with candles and a pretty lady. Oh Love...you so silly!

I have returned from Hollywood, Iowa
Hello everyone that's still being faithful to my love child of a blog. It's been a damned long time but I'm ready to bring this guy back in full force. I've got a huge showing of hits on this blog and I have no idea where it's coming from, especially since I've been gone doing more important things and achieving lifelong goals (I now have a girlfriend in every single continent of the world, believe me, or don't).
Sorry, I promise to fill you in with all of my shortcomings during my absent period sometime soon. Just know that I've been studying my butt off and I just got done filming the movies Janie Jones and Smitty. Cool beans.
Here's the trailer for THE CRAZIES. I'm a little late on this one considering I haven't been on here for awhile but I decided it was approiate to show this trailer. The movie was filmed in southern Iowa and it's a remake of the George Romero classic. What do you think of Mad World being in that trailer? I think it's like being a lion in the Great Plains. Whatever that means.
I'll be home for Taylor Vander Well and Clayton Boeyink's wedding this weekend. It's going to be brilliant. I'm a bridesman. It's like that movie with Patrick Dempsey, except I'm way sexier.
good to be back,
andrew
